Busy + Body = BusyBody

 

So much of being busybody that lead to silent tears. Guess the last day of October is nothing but being kecil hati or in your words, HURT! *sigh It all goes when Snakey Kevin was going for his school trip tonight. At the same time, Aunt Kayu, my neighbor was doing big birthday party for her granddaughter who is turning 5. Ate lots of food. Love the 'ngo hang tiao' and the fried rice which has squid, sausages meat and egg in there. SUPER FULL!!! It was 15 minutes past 9 when bro decided to finally finished packing and go to school for the gathering before starting the journey on bus. I also don't know why I worry so much when the problem is clearly not mine to be worry off. Since there's lots of cars parked outside our house compound, in front of our gate, I figured Mum would have a hard time reversing and drive her way thru all those cars. Me being me, I helped her by giving her instructions when it's too near to knocking others cars and all. But what do I get in return?? "Shut up and go INSIDE la!" is the reward for me. NOT softly spoken but out loud for others to hear. As if I'm deaf. WHATEVER !! As I always tell Tigress, to be able to live in this house, we must have enough patience and always close one eye. Say la my heart small or anything. The truth is I'm hurt! I don't ask for gratitude or anything but instead I got scolded for the help given. Thanks a lot lo, MUM !

Enough of tears tonight. May November brings happiness to me. Minus the scolding incident, today is actually a good day for me. All sorts of construction and painting officially done which means peace finally return. No more grinding sound in the morning that wake me up or having people at my toilet's door when I want to do big business. All done! The last construction is the roofing which requires the workers to climb up high. The wooden roofing were removed and a plaster kinda type replace it.

Seeing this piles of wood almost everyday when I went to the backyard makes me wonder what to do with them. I feel that it's a waste to throw them away and by that I meant, have them buried in soil. And I keep thinking and thinking till I spotted people's house with this nice gazebo or garden with a wooden shelves to put all the flowers pot in order. So I thought, why not we make one? Rather than throwing them, it would be great to have them for other purpose as they are still good in shape. So I went over to Google and found a very clear wooden shelf just like the one I have in mind. Have a chit-chat with the construction worker and he agreed to make one for me! YAY!!

It's not a big deal or anything. The fact that the "construction workers" are not many but only two people. They're Indonesian and one of them have been here, Malaysia for almost 12 years. They are very hardworking. It proves when both of them worked on weekend and also managed to finished the entire roofing in just a week! It proves that having PADI (Pendatang Asing Dengan Izin) or legal immigrants here in our country is a good thing. Well, not all immigrants are bad. Sometimes, they just wanna find more money to support their family back there. Think of it. Leaving all your family behind to cross the ocean to find income for the family is a big sacrifice. And I think it's a noble thing to sacrifice oneself for the sake of others.

Going Deaf!

In less than 12 hours, we, Malaysians are going in the new month. N-O-V-E-M-B-E-R  a month that signify new beginning for me. The month that I was brought to the world. And I have this just one entry that is due before end of October. Keep it determined and let's work on it. I tried to put everything and events together so in future, I can see back all those wonderful yet silly memories in my life. Tired to not delayed it so I won't forget what actually happen during the period of time. This makes everything much more memorable. I guess I will not be afraid if one day I have Alzheimer's disease. There's this blog to remind me of everything.

25 October 2013 - Friday

A weekend here meant to be spent with families and friends. If last week or last two week, we attend a function for raising money for the school, this time round, Mum was given two tickets to a Karaoke night. Nope. We don't sing but it's more like a Singing competition and we're giving tickets to 'wak merioh' or 'chao re nao' or cheers for the participants.

 

Nah... I don't really listen to those singing. I paid more attention on the food. Yummy!! First, I don't understand what they're trying to sing coz all they sing is Hokkien song. It's true that I'm a pure Hokkienese but nah, I don't like Hokkien song. "Wa bo sukak lu ei cho hamik." "Chiak pa boi." Secondly, the speakers were on a little too loud that I almost thought I've went deaf. Super loud that it makes my ears hurt every time I laid down on the bed. At a point, I was about to go for a check up.

Having messy hair or beach kind of hair kind of in the trend these days right? So I don't really bother to keep my hair neat. When Mum complained, all I said is, "Messy is kinda sexy what?" Hahaha~ I always find it difficult to find the perfect dress to these kind of function. I meant, of course, Mum wouldn't let me go with a Tee and a jeans. And I don't think my closet have that lots of dress. I'm not the girly kind. All I have most is jeans and tees. Beside, having a chubby body also add into it. Find it hard to find suitable, nice dresses.

 

 

Desperation eat out if me when I went thru Tigress's closet to find this nice dress. The problem is it's too short to wear out like this. So I par it with a jeans thou tights seem to fit better. Arghh. To lazy to find a suitable tights. Anyway, I super love this dress!! Super comfy!

 

We went there, SJKC Chung Hwa Wei Sin at 6.30 in the evening thou the function begin at 7.30. Mum's afraid that there's will be no place to park the car. And it happens that there's so much parking lots coz there's are only 12 tables that night. Hahaha. Saw Darunee there, working. The worst part is Mum kept seeing my friend the whole night and asking me weird things about her. -___-

Fake shark fin

 

People just gonna understand that eating shark fin soup is a mandatory in every Chinese functions or dinner. It actually represents the host's wealth or how extravagant the function is. Since shark fin is being ban, so restaurants these days tend to replace shark fin with 'tang hoon', a transparent noodle like thingy. It's just like shark fin la. Or maybe they do put shark fin in there but in smaller amount. Like 10% only?

 

In every function dinner, I always look forward to this lil present on the menu.

Halloween

This entry shall marked the end of October. 4 months flew away and I still haven't think of what to do with my future. Am I a failure? Everyday only EAT, SLEEP and SH*T only. I actually also don't know what I want. I seriously need to think already. I definitely don't want to grow old like this. Think !! Think !! And THINK !!

Halloween ?? We here don't celebrate Halloween. But seeing all those Western movies make me excited for Halloween. It's a happy thing also to see others dress up for Halloween. From costumes to decorations and also treats. They're so cute. Have never been to any Halloween parties but hope to attend one one day. I've even have my costume in mind already. I want to dress up as a Princess from Chinese Dynasty wearing the flower ornament on the head and those 'click clock' shoe wear. Hihihi.. Keep on dreaming, Karen!!

Well, at least with this apps, I can see myself in those costumes. It felt the same as if I'm celebrating my own Halloween here. It's this amazing apps from China called,

Stalker ALERT

Dreams these two days are really weird. Dreamt of my college crush and ex boyfie. I don't understand why they are in my dreams. Wak kacau je. Can't really think straight for the last two days. Why come haunting me? I'm happy here. Is this a sign that I'm desperate for love? Oh NOO !!! I'm happy single for now thou there's a lil jealous when seeing my Wei Qi jie go pak tor with her boyfriend.

I think I know why those dreams haunted me for days. It's because in that dreams, me with crush and me with ex boyfie (different days) are very happy together. Shoo! Shoo! Go away!! Far far away! The story with crush is a sad one-way love story. *sobs sobs Ceh! I met crush in our Malaysian Studies. He's from other courses. Business, I think and I'm from Foundation in Science. He's sitting two chairs behind us in lecture hall with his friends and often came late for lecture. In daylight we didn't talk or anything. Just eyes wandering around. Hahaha But at night, I go off stalking his FB before sleep. Thou there's security there already but it's not that strong.

But from those night stalking, I know his name (if he put the real name on FB la), his friends, his family (that he has a brother and two sister and one of them is working at Mount Elizabeth, Singapore as a nurse or something), his hometown and also his secondary school. So how cool am I?? Towards the end of the course, I take my first step by adding him in FB but he didn't approve. I still have my dignity k! So after that I cancel my friend request and delete him from my heart! Orang tak sudi takkan saya nak terhegeh-hegeh...

Enough of that. Those stalking days reminds me of how scary can a cyber world be. Basically, I know every single thing about him. Wouldn't it be scary to have some strangers know every single thing about you?? I think it's very scary lo. So gals, please tighten up your security, please?

I mean, The HELL??  In the state of shocked, I quickly blocked him and have all my profile picture on "Only Me". Who knows what he wants to do with my picture? He might put evil spirit on my picture of bomoh me. And then kill me and throw my body in the sea or feed the wild dogs or even better eat my body. YUCKS!!

I appreciate my personal life very much. That's the main reason why I'm active Twitter nowadays. Twitter basically offered me a sense of security where I can enjoy sharing my daily activities with my very close friends only. At Facebook, if I added that person, that particular person can view my profile and I can view him. That doesn't happen in Twitter. it takes both side to approve to. It means that even if he approve me, it doesn't mean he can read my tweets. To read my tweets, I have to approve him first. Facebook is just way too scary. So be careful.

 

The main point here is that, NEVER add strangers! That is so NO-NO! You don't know who's that person. He might be a serial killer or a crazy person. So that's the reason why I don't add strangers with no face, weird name or a cartoon picture. I'm preventing myself from adding strangers into my life. As far as I'm concern, I shared everything on Facebook. My life, my friends and even my families. I surely wouldn't want someone to stalk on my families especially on my younger sisters!

Ladies, it's Pink October aka Breast Cancer Awareness Month!! Lets ignore all those dirty thoughts and start to get some info in the brain! 1 in 8 women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.

Breast - is the upper ventral region of the torso, containing mammary gland in which can secrete milk in female

As long as you have breast, then you have the possibility of having breast cancer. So gents, it doesn't meant that you can't get breast cancer. An average of 2,200 American men is diagnosed with breast cancer yearly.

A telltale sign of having breast cancer include a lump in the breast or underarm that is permanent even after menstrual cycle, swelling in the area, pain and tenderness in the breast and much more. However, an approximate 9 out of 10 lumps found are not cancerous. So, don't worry much. To ease your mind, go get a check-up! Early detection has as high as 90% of recovery rate!

 

 

Lumps during menstrual are due to the hormone progesterone that makes the breast cells grow and blood vessels enlarge and fill with blood. At this time, breast often become engorged with fluid and may be tender and swollen.

GET A DOCTOR!!

 

Women of all ages are encouraged to perform breast self-exams at least one a month as 40% of diagnosed breast cancer are detected by women who feel a lump. So establishing a regular beast-self exam is very important!

 

Don't have the time for breast-self exam? Well, think. Find a time or live with breast cancer. Having your breast chopped off! Choose wisely. It only takes a few minutes. You can do it either in your shower, in front of the mirror or even before going to bed. The best is doing it now while reading this!!

 

 In the shower

Using the pads of your fingers, move around your entire breast in a circular pattern moving from the outside to the center, checking the entire breast and armpit area. Check both breasts each month feeling for any lump, thickening, or hardened knot. Notice any changes and get lumps evaluated by your healthcare provider.

 



In front of the mirror

Visually inspect your breasts with your arms at your sides. Next, raise your arms high overhead. Look for any changes in the contour, any swelling, or dimpling of the skin, or changes in the nipples. Next, rest your palms on your hips and press firmly to flex your chest muscles. Left and right breasts will not exactly match — few women's breasts do, so look for any dimpling, puckering, or changes, particularly on one side.

Lying down / Sleeping

When lying down, the breast tissue spreads out evenly along the chest wall. Place a pillow under your right shoulder and your right arm behind your head. Using your left hand, move the pads of your fingers around your right breast gently in small circular motions covering the entire breast area and armpit. Use light, medium, and firm pressure. Squeeze the nipple; check for discharge and lumps. Repeat these steps for your left breast.



Prevention is better than cure. Thou breast cancer is a hereditary disease, it can be prevented by doing regular aerobic exercise, controlling your diet and also alcohol consumption. So, say no to alcohol !!

Mousy's Big Day

The title of the entry said it all. 17 years ago, on 27th October, Mousy came into the lonely life of mine. She's all I asked for. A sister! And since that day, I was no longer alone. We were quite close for almost 2 years before Tigress decided to come in too. It's Mousy's birthday yesterday. And yeap, Mousy birthday is the day after Dad's.

 

Again, we went Secret Recipe for cake hunt. This time round, we managed to have Red Velvet, Black Forest, Raspberry Cheese Cake, Turkish Indulgence, Chocolate Lava and dunno what. 

 

 

Since she's craving for pizza for about a week already, we stopped by Pizza Hut to have Hawaiian Chicken and Chicken Pepperoni. Together with it, came along Garlic Bread and a bowl of Mushroom soup with RM 1 for the add-ons! How affordable!
