Gold Coast, Australia (Part 2)

Part 1 here

On our fourth day in Australia, we went to Sea World. Started our day at 9 am and the journey roughly took us 30 minutes. After grabbing park maps as well as show time schedules, we headed straight for the 10.15 am Fish Detectives Sea Lion Show.

While waiting for the queue

At the set of the Fish Detectives Sea Lion Show

In a fish tale of Big Al Baloney and sea lions, Buddy and Clawde

Right after the Sea Lion show, we headed straight for Penguin Feeding Session at 10.45 am. I learnt more about penguins that day than I ever had. Like how they marked the age of the penguins by the color clips on their wings, their sex and mating session. Can't resist the amount of cuteness coming from them.

These small cuties are the Fairy Penguins

After the feeding session, we went up north for the Affinity Dolphin Show at 11.15 am. We don't really spent much time on the penguins because the rest were not interested in squeezing their way through the crowds.

Colorful wooden cottages

Love this shoot!
Who say dolphins can't fly?!

Photoshop this while waiting uploading the photos.
Nice hor...

After the show, we went towards Shark Bay and Polar Bear Shores since the Sea World theater for SpongeBob 3D was not open. We didn't manage to watch it. Some said the schedule time was too far ahead while others said it wouldn't be fun since it's 3D, only picture motion compare to 4D.

At the Shark Bay with a Manta ray

My first face-to-face with polar bear

When the rest were busy ogling the polar bear, I was occupied with mama bear and her cub

Hiding in the shade with Dora's Adventure Show
Others were having their time at Beach Break Bay

Because it was too thrilled, we sat the Storm Coaster twice

Jet Rescue was scheduled on maintenance so we missed it. As for Viking's Revenge Flume, let's not get wet.

Favorite tv channel since small till now

Our last stop is the Penguin Encounter

I've tried my best. That is the closest I am with penguins

We left Sea World at 3 in the afternoon. For dinner, initially we planed to have Vietnamese but we can't find the place after 20 minutes of walking. So we settled with Chinese at Legends Seafood Restaurant. We ordered quite a few of their famous dishes. I can't recall the names of these dishes but in taste wise, it's just okay.

So much for watching Big Al Baloney in the morning that we had abaloney for dinner

Right beside the restaurant, there's a shop selling souvenirs and squalene. Mami and Popo has been eaten squalene for few years and we always had to ask cousins from Australia to bring back for us. While the elders were busy with squalene and bilberry that is said to improve vision, the kids, us were busy choosing souvenirs for friends.

Boss is very good at selling his products. Also, he's Sarawakian.

If you plan to buy Nougat, buy here. It's cheaper than at the airport

Had one of these cutie at home.
A gift from Mami and Dad from their Australia trip

Back to theme parks the next day. We started the day quite late, at around 10 am so by the time we reached Dreamworld, we've already miss quite a lot. As for Dreamworld, Whitewater World and Skypoint, we took the buy 3 get 1 free promotion. I've checked! It's the cheapest deal available. Plus it comes with an unlimited entry till 24 December 2015! The deal is available at their website (not sure if they still have offer). Just like Movie World, printed coupon will be email.

Mandatory photo at the main entrance

In movies (Madagascar and Shrek) , we kept seeing this iconic logo.

Into the Land of Madness
Group photo with the characters that made our playstation days much more fun
My favorite character definitely is GLORIA!

We were required to print our pass at the Pass Center which is located in in between Pandamonium and the Tiger Island. So our first stop at Dreamworld is the Tiger Island. Reached just in time for the Tiger Island Presentation.

A-meh-zing
A nice elderly Australian couple gave us their spot

Birdie, I know you have a name but sadly, I don't watch KungFu Panda

I'm in China. Call me the China girl

Smile, Mr Shrek, smile!!
Shrek said to get the pearly white teeth, you need to brush your teeth for Colgate!
Day and night, boys and girls. Day and night...

If you go to Dreamworld, this one must sit.
An experience like never before

Then again, The Claw and Shockwave also MUST sit

Going backwards at 161km/h in 7 seconds before plummeting back down, face first
If you think you're that terror, then Tower of Terror is for you
Oh, we sat this THRICE!!
(Image from Google)

I read reviews that the Big 9 Thrills ( The Claw, Cyclone, Wipeout, BuzzSaw, Tail Spin, Tower of Terror II, The Giant Drop) are the must sit rides. Too bad, we don't have enough time to sit them all. Danny even challenge whoever who dares to get on The Giant Drop, he'll give 1,000 dollars. They said The Giant Drop is the scariest thrill rides in Australia.

Our last and final stop at Dreamworld is at Dreamworld Corroboree
Just to have a look at kangaroos and koalas

First attempt at getting the kangaroo to lift his head up

Second attempt: Still failed

Third attempt: Succeed at lifting just not to the camera
I GAVE UP!!

Thank you, Mr Kangaroo.
That ends our day at Dreamworld

For dinner, we went for something more adventure, Persian food at Shiraz Authentic Persian Restaurant (across the street from Legends Seafood). I decided to try lamb so I had Baghali polo with Lamb Shank for AUS$20. It's actually tender slow cooked lamb shank with green rice (mixture of rice, broad beans, dill, herbs and Persian spices). Personally, I don't really enjoy it because there's this smell from the lamb meat that I don't like. Perhaps it's the spice or that's the smell of the lamb, I don't know. Hey! But at least I can say I've tried lamb meat before!!

We also ordered Loobia Polo (top left) which apparently is Persian favorite and Shiraz Special Mix plate (bottom right). It's rice mixed with green beans, mushroom and herbs in a tomato base. Shiraz Special Mix plate is a combination of joojeh, Koobedih and Chenjeh skewers, served with saffron rice and grilled tomato. It comes with a plate of salad (salad is just not our cup of tea).

The actual plan was to go to WhiteWater World but there's no bus to theme parks after 11 am. So we resort to going to Surfers Paradise's beach the next day. Just to see how gold is the sand in Gold Coast. So that means we missed WhiteWater World.

A nice, sunny day

Love this shot with buildings and beach

Sun-tanning

We decided to skip the observation at Sky Point Q1 since we already had the view from our apartment and went back to enjoy the facilities. The rest went down for a swim while I recharged myself upstairs. Swimming is just not my thing, and will never be my thing.

It's Danny who noticed the wifi sign

We decided to have Indian cuisine at Madras Café which is downstairs for dinner
but the kids went to have Dominos at the opposite

The curry was finger-licking good and so is the garlic prawn

Chicken Chettinad is also worth trying

The food is good here but unfortunately we had some problems with the boss there where he charged us double for a plate of rice that comes with chicken curry but we did not took the curry. He was suppose to tell us that even if we cancel the curry, the price still stands. Sadly, he did not.

On our 7th day, we went to Paradise Country Farm and Harbour Town. We booked the van transfer from Julie. Actually Paradise Country is behind Wet n Wild but buses don't enter to Paradise Country Farm. Meaning if you take the public bus, you need to walk about 800 meters from the bus stop right in front of Wet n Wild.

The Stone family

Kangaroos here are well-behaved and they listen to instructions well

At the Whip Cracking, Boomerang Throwing and Sheep Dog Roundup show
Phewww. Such a long name

Milking the moo-moo
Seen a lot in tv but first in real life

Sheep Shearing Show with skills that have been passed down
through generations of Australian farming families

The Merino sheep, Australia's farming icon
I wanna cuddle with you all day, Merino

The place was totally crowded with tourists from China that they even have a Chinese translator on site. Too crowded that we gave up taking photographs with the koalas. After lunch time, we went to Harbour town.

Blur shot. My pose gone wasted!

Those wanting to find cheap banded things should really come to Harbour Town. They have a lot of brands with discount up to 80%. Besides, for somebody with my size or bigger, who have difficulties finding clothes in Malaysia, here is your chance because apparently in Australia, I'm only size M. This makes me wanna live in Australia.

Tommy Hilfiger fans, anyone?

Wrapping up, for dinner on our last day in Australia, we went to Chiangmai Thai Restaurant for the second time. Totally love their soft shell crab, BBQ duck and fried squid. From our apartment, it's only about 15 minutes walk. No regrets coming here.

What we had the first time we came

This ends our holiday vacation in Gold Coast, Australia.

Thank you for all the wonderful time that we had here. We enjoyed screaming our hearts out on the roller coaster. I hope to be back someday in future coz I haven't enjoy Dreamworld to the fullest and also WhiteWater World.

Thank you for dropping by.
See you soon!
