Krabi Day 2: Hong Island

Day 1: Krabi, here we come

(2/6/15) On our second day in Krabi, we  were set to go for a day of island hopping on our private Hong Island Tour which cost us THB 13,500 for all 11 of us. The fare includes return land transfer from our villa, single-engine boat and pack lunch.

At Ao Nang pier
This place is jam packed with tourists as well as longtail boats

Just off the coast of Ao Nang beach

A must photo with windy breeze due to the speed we were going

Our first stop, Pakbia Island.
We saw more than 20 ang mohs camping and filming here

Our search for movie star failed terribly.
But hey, perhaps this monkey is the star

Shamefully used their props

Is this what they called the 'Candid shot'?

While we were trying out our jumping skills, Eric decided to join too

Just love this portrait shot of my lil-but-not-so-lil-anymore brother

We can walk across from one island to the other at low tide.
It was high when we went.

The ang mohs decided to join our group photo too
Moments before tragedy strike

Here in Pakbia Island or as we named it the Drowning Island, while we were busy taking group photographs right there, we failed to noticed that we were nearing the deep zone. It was only few steps behind the area. Few minutes later, few of us nearly drowned. Thankfully, we survived. It is a reminder to never take things for granted. After the incident, all of us wore life jackets the moment we boarded the boat till we left.

Next, we stop at the beautiful Lading Island which is also known as Paradise Island

Locals used to collect bird's nest here. Now, it is one of Krabi's most breathtaking view

Here at Lading Island, we learnt how to use snorkels and masks for the very first time, coached by Mak Ee.

Since I am not interested in snorkeling, I stay on shore polishing Mum's photography skills

Moments before we left Lading Island

Next destination, the fantastic Hong Island with towering limestone cliffs on all sides
This aerial shot is taken from Google

Hong as in 'room' in Thai is wonderfully surrounded by limestone cliffs

We had our packed lunch here in Hong Island

When the rest were happily snorkeling in the sea

Trying out some modeling skills

Looking at the picture, it feels like I am in the photography studio
with the background scenery behind me
It is that surreal

We just can't resist the marvelous natural creation

Every corner in Hong Island is insta worthy

You can also kayak in Hong Island
Love this shot

Another angle of the island

Such a beautiful island.
You have to have to be here and feel it!
Smart guy here brought food for the fishes.
So fun to watch

Another insta worthy picture

After 2 hours of snorkeling, it's time to head back to the boat

Last picture before heading back

We went for an amazing sunset dinner at the famous The Hilltop Restaurant

Breathtaking view of Krabi coast on The Hilltop

We were advised to be here not later than 6.30 pm so as not to miss the beautiful sunset
Just remember to come early!

Sunset in the background with natural bokeh
The setting and the view is very good here at The Hilltop.
Food, however is just average

We didn't know that we are suppose to make booking prior.
Luck was on our side when we went that day.
There was a table for us.
So to those planning to have a sunset dinner at The Hilltop, here's the number to call.

Day 2 ended.
More insta worthy pictures on Day 3.
Stay tune!
