Beautiful Mutation

Have been a week into semester 2. So far, everything is good except that in certain classes, there are lots of students that latecomers might need to stand or grab a chair from the next door. To that extend. Those classes are Computing Essential and Algebra. It gets really uncomfortable to pay attention when there's no table for you to jot the notes down. Hopefully things will get much better by next week. Biology 2 is very hard. For introduction, we are to learn cellular respiration already. It's heavy and on top of that, we have a new lecture, Mr James. Ms Shima left us for further studies. Blame it on my luck. When I was in KBU, my biology teacher, Ms Fatin Shaari too went for further studies and was replaced by Ms Dorcas Kong. Now in UCSI, Ms Shima also went off. Haih. Not to say Mr James but he also blur blur one. I doubt that he's also as confusing as us. Chemistry's lecture, Ms Annie is a mean person. She called people dumb dumb for answering her question wrongly. So mean. Should start revising on Chemistry soon. Wouldn't want to get in her list for Dummies.  As for my transcript, I shall go again to the Registrar Office this Monday. If I was to wait, I bet they will never call me. The D grade on the transcript is really disturbing.

Personally I think the staff there got language problem. Last Thursday, when I went there, a Malay staff entertained me. I explained everything and she said it probably because the fat Indian that previously handled my withdrawal cases forget to press the 'Withdrawn' button. The hell? Is that my fault? In a nice tone, she get my number and said she'll called me. Aside from the transcript, there's another problem. I am suppose to be exempted from Malaysian and Moral studies but in the program, under the exemption table, there's nothing. When  I raise my case, she said she'll get her other colleague but later then returned and said her colleague was engaged. And asked me to wait for a while. This time, I managed to wait again for almost 20 minutes and when I went to asked, she said, "I asked you to wait meh? Oh, sorry. I'll call you." SERIOUSLY?! Rasa nak tampar je muka tu. Ishh.. Geram! Ada ke ye tunjuk muka tak bersalah langsung. Hantu la. "Tunggu sekejap" and "Nanti saya call back" banyak beza tau. Kang ada jugak yang makan penampar aq nih.

Dimple is a type of deformation; beautiful mutation. Dimples are small fold or indentations in the fleshy part of the cheek which are caused by a minor muscle deformity that causes the skin of the cheek to draw tightly as it moves, creating external riot. This facial feature is usually a genetically-inherited trait. Some have either right or left dimple but the lucky ones have dimples on both side.

Cute, stunning and hot celebrities with dimples include... *drum rolls

1. Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge

2.  Miranda Kerr
Hot and sexy mama

3. Brad Pitt

4. Cheryl Cole

5. Ariana Grande

6. Ashley Greene

7. Bar Refaeli

8. Vanessa Hudgens

9. Leonardo Dicaprio

10. Gabrielle Union

11. Kellan Lutz

12. Karen Chiok
What la? I also have dimple ma.

Typed so long since 9 pm but still haven't reach the main point. Actually, I'm very angry coz I feel like I've been deceived by mirrors. I've always wonder why my selfie so pretty when I'm not. Always feel pretty when I look in the mirrors but in reality it's not. Realization hit me yesterday night when I viewed my old photos. Why those pictures of me taken by someone else look o hideous? Note to self, never let others take photo for you. So I went and tested out my theory today.

Taken from front camera. This photo is a mirror.
It explains because my dimple is actually on my right hand side.

A flipped image of the previous.
This is the image I'll get if I use my back camera.
So this is me with a right dimple

I think the dimple on my right side makes me look very cacat. It makes my face look unsymmetrical and ugly. The 'swan' finally realized that she's an ugly duckling after all. Sobs sobs... Also, people with dimples on the left actually looked prettier and cuter. So if you have dimple on your left, lucky you. Most of the celebrities have dimples on either both side or on the left. I'm so gonna break all the mirrors for deceiving me.

As we're already on this topic, you can actually have artificial dimples. It's either from make-up or surgery. Some said the dimple piercing or dimple creation surgery is damn painful but beauty comes with a price, isn't it? To create dimple, a small incision is made in the inside of the cheek. A small absorbable suture is then passed through the inside of the cheek and catches the undersurface of the skin where the dimple is desired. When this suture is tied, it causes a dimpling in the overlying skin. First few days, dimple will present even without smiling but after several days, dimple will only present when smiling or moving the face. The scarring between the inner skin and muscle will cause a permanent dimple even after the suture is absorbed.

Dimple creation surgery can be done on all cheek types and sizes. You can also decide the location of the dimples. Thou it is an entirely surgery process where you will be awake during the entire surgery, there will be a little bit of swelling and bruising. As in any surgery, there are risks involved in the form of infection, bleeding, scarring, under/over correction and weakness of the involved muscles although extremely rare. Normal activities should be able to resume the following day.

Extra dimple on the left, Karen?
Hmm.. Thinking...

Till then, go be beautiful!
Thanks for reading.
Go smash your mirrors too if you feel that you've been cheated

Loath

The issue to raise here is the house cleaning which is twice a month. True to say that I am definitely not willing to pay RM 25 a month. Yeah, we're still stuck here. Months ago, I and Ameera ( my other house mate) made an agreement to have it once a  month. It has been going on for at least 4 months. Everyone was happy. But now that she had already left, it was back to twice a month. I got furious. Why can't Pris just clean her mess? Got a lot money to waste ah? The lesson here is to never have a rich man's daughter as your housemate.

Landlord called me just now. She'll willing to cut my rental to RM 440 by deducting RM 10 to pay up for the house cleaning since she failed to mention to me early on that they will be having house cleaning twice a month. Still, I'm not satisfied. I still have to pay RM 15 a month, which in my accounts is quite expensive since RM 15 can last me maximum 3 days. That's a lot. But then no point arguing further on. It just makes others unhappy. I'll go with it but I shall give you my sour face.

The another problem is the fact that Pris is letting boys entering the house. When I was finding for a room, I remembered clearly that it was mention that "NO BOYS ARE ALLOWED". Damn. No proof now. Can't find the advertisement on the internet already. It has been removed. The reason why I took the room was because no boys are allowed. And by all means, no boys should enter. You want to know what my bloody landlord told me? She guaranteed me that there is no house that really don't have boys entere. Who knows there is? Despite the bloody expensive room rental, I decided to take it as you said no boys are allowed. If it's that case, why do I need to pay for such pricy rental where others here in Angkasa Condo can offer me a cheaper price with a bigger room.

I was so tempted to move out. There are lots of offers with cheaper room and bigger room. There's one with only RM 390 with Queen sized bed and a bigger room. The only reason I'm all tied up is the bloody contract. I'm tied to this place, this room for a year. Damn! Shall be patient for another 6 months and I'll be out from the room and UCSI for good.

As for UCSI, did I mention there's a D for my Malaysian Studies subject that I've already been exempted from? Fuck UCSI again. Apparently, I need to deal with the Registrar Office and Centre of Pre-U staffs again. Urghhh. From my previous bad experience, I don't think I want to deal with them again. All the stresses and tears. If I don't go, my transcript will be forever be tainted with the D. FML.

On the bright side, I've cooked for myself Steamed Egg with Minced Pork today. Get your pen and paper ready to jot this down.

Ingredients:
  • Minced Pork
  • Egg
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Pepper
Method:
1. Add in sugar, salt, pepper and MSG into the minced pork. Mix well
2. Steamed the pork until half or fully cooked.
3. Break the egg. In the egg, add water, salt and sugar to taste. Remember to never beat the egg. Stirring to break the yolk is enough.
4. Pour the egg into the plate of minced pork and steamed again until fully cooked.

I don't have the exact measurement for this as I dump everything in. A dash of this here and a tsp of this there. For once, let your instinct lead. My container is small so I just need an egg and to the egg I only added 3 tbsp. of sugar. That's the only measurement I have. It's that easy. Sometimes, other like to garnish it with sesame oil and spring onions. Well, you can also substitute chicken egg with century egg or salted duck egg.

It seems incomplete. Hmm. Shall make a complete and better version the next time in future with the secret of producing the smooth surface of the steamed egg. SO be back again in August! If you can't wait, you can try and error.

Thanks for hearing to my whines.

Weevils

Have you ever open a bag of rice grains or cereal products to notice that small beetles have invaded the whole bag? How can they enter the bag when it's sealed? While the college is still sorting out our timetables and I'm free from assignments and tests, I took the effort to cook simple meal (it's actually heating coz those are the food that I brought back) to save money. Today, I noticed that my bag of brown rice is full with these tiny, black beetles. It is pwetty annoying coz I spent almost 20 minutes to wash the rice while picking up each and single beetle. So what is this rice beetle?

My new pets that do not require any attention or love.
They simply need a bag of grains. Say hi to Weevils!

Weevil is a type of bug or beetle that is found in rice grains and cereal products. These pests often damage crops by laying their eggs in grain kernels and later sealing it with gelatinous secretions. With a warm temperature, the larva develops within the grain and eat its way out. That explains why my grains are hollow and empty inside. 'Weevil' sounds like 'We evil'. They are indeed evil coz they feed on my rice. Who the hell give them permission to do so?!

Don't freak out but a female weevil can lays from 36 up to 254 eggs. With the proper temperature, which is between 80 to 86 degree F, 75-90% humidity, the eggs will hatch in 3 days and the larvae mature in 18 days and 6 days as pupa. The life cycle depends closely on the temperature. On summer, it lasts for about 30-40 days while 123 to 148 days in winter.

The best way to get rid off weevils is to
  • Inspect all grains upon purchase
  • Freeze grains for at least 1 week (or store permanently in the freezer) to kill any eggs
  • Buy grains in small quantity and eat within a reasonable period of time
  • Store grains in tightly sealed glass, metal or sturdy containers
  • Regularly clean pantry racks and shelves
  • Placed small bags of black pepper around pantry to repel weevils
  • Placed dry bay leaves or cloves in each container or bag of flour to discourage weevil infestation
Besides, the presence of weevils indicate the freshness of the grains and cereal products. So you know how to determine the freshness of the products now. Fortunately, all stages of the weevils can be killed easily by super heating or cooling. Simply heat in a shallow pan in the oven at 120 degree F for about an hour or in the microwave for 5 minutes or place in a freezer at 0 degree F for 4 days.

There's no answer to whether is there any nutritious value left in the grains that have been infested by weevil. From my understanding, I would say that there's no more nutrition in there. What left by the beetle is only an empty capsule. Nothing more. So I suggest to never buy weevils infested products.

Empty in the inside

Why are Chemistry lectures all that sarcastic? First on the list is Ms Jaclyn and the second one would be Ms Annie. I just love hearing to their sarcastic comments. My personal form of entertainment. As for Bio, I'm gonna miss Ms Shima very much. Mr James's class bored me to death. No offense but it's very boring and the lectures notes are incomplete. Another thing that Mr James expect us to do is to be PERFECT! Hell?! He clearly explained how perfect is his perfect. I know I always strive for perfection but I never expected others to expect me to do so. Very stress leh. This semester shall make me a morning person. All classes start at 8 in the morning with long breaks in between. Urgghh. Such a pain in the ass.

Nothing much. No class tomorrow so perhaps another entry tomorrow. If and only if I'm that hardworking. Before I go off, Mother's Day is  this Sunday, 11th of May. Set your remainder and start your surprise!

Thanks for reading.
Ciao!

Holidays ended

Back to my lonely world, entrap in between four-sided walls. Reached to a messy home at 10 in the morning by Firefly. Woke up as early as 6 to pack my luagage. Tonnes of food to bring back here. Brought back chicken curry, salted chicken, pork balls, kaya (coconut jem), kerepok (fish crackers), love letters, snacks, oranges (we have much sweeter oranges than those in KL) and crab balls, dim sum, some tees and some SPM as well as STPM book for my next semester. I'm all ready for sem 2. Bring in on!!

My last day in KT was damn packed. Went to Mydin to buy some hair bands, powder and mirror. Trust me when I said I'm very lazy to find these things in KL. In the afternoon, me went to the Dad's grave with Mum to water the plants there as well as visiting Dad. It's a routine each time I go back. As for dinner, we went to Dee Dee Restaurant to eat together with Great Tiger and his family. It was nice to eat together. The not nice part is where 4 out of 8 dishes were vegetables and we were forced to finished all the vegetables or we can't go home. Never in my life I ate so much vegetables in a day. Proud of myself. After a hearty meal, Great Tiger suddenly said he wanted to weigh us. Damn! I felt cheated because I literally ate to my heart contents. Thank god, he said he'll deduct 3kg from there to be fair. Whooo... I'm 72.1 kg and after deduct 3kg, it was 69 only. Sipek happy thou I'm well aware that I'm 70.9kg in the morning. It doesn't hurt as long as he doesn't knows.

That night, for supper, mum bought me roti tempayan where traditionally the bread is baked in a pot by sticking it to the walls of the pot and it's eaten with curry. It tastes like heaven. I was busy packing the last night. Ooh. And I've gotten my result. Aaahhhh. I've managed to obtain 3.6. So damn happy. Some applause, please? Perhaps repeating another year of foundation isn't that bad after all. Shall aim for higher pointer the next semester. I was damn nervous to take my result. I never thought that my pointer can be so high as I'm totally helpless in Physic. It turns out that I got a B for my Physic. Not bad la. As for Biology, it is kinda disappointing to get a B+. Haihh. And I thought I can get A. Fine. I'm satisfied.

That night (my last night) while I was packing my darling, Xiao Ai was accompanying me and I decided to prank him. I switched off all the light downstairs and told that, "Xiao Ai, go oor oor (sleeping)" while I peeped at him from upstairs. What he did was, he was confused coz he's supposed to go outside and sleep. He was standing at the stairs, looking very confused. I can still remember his facial expression. Later on, he went down and slept totally at the bottom of the stairs with his head at the first flight of stairs. Is this why dogs normally slept in front or at the corner of the doors, to wait for their master to return? I'm so touched by seeing Xiao Ai's behavior that my tears suddenly dropped. Is this how a creature named dog show their loyalty? I beyond speechless.

After the loyalty was given, we, the ungrateful humans decided to abandon them when they no longer cute or their fur color do not match our cushion color. Take a moment to reflect what have we given to our dogs to obtain such an honor. At that moment, I trust that if I was in danger, I believe Xiao Ai would sacrifice himself to protect me. I hope we don't come to that day. I would never put him in that situation. Same goes to Tiger and Kiko. Once in a blue moon, there will be always these slimy reptiles that came and visited us. I've warned everyone at home that not to let my dogs near them. I can tolerate with monitor lizards but not snakes. Please. I can't lose any of them.

My boy looks so pitiful here.

Nothing much more but I hate the feeling when I'm back here. In my sleep, I'm always dreaming that I'm back home in the comfort of my love ones. It is quite scary when you can't differentiate which is dreams and which is reality and when you woke up, disappointment wash all over you. The dreams or nightmares as I called it, often lasted a day or two. Too good to be true. Gonna return to my busy routine from tomorrow onwards. I hope I'll more free time to update my blog from time to time coz there's still at least 4 drafts pending.

Here the end of my holidays. The end of my time with Xiao Ai. The end of jotting down the recipes, taking photos of step-to-step cooking as well as baking and posting up the recipes at midnight when everyone's asleep. The end of my time at home. The end of spending time with my BFFs (yeah. I haven't posted entry on that). Time has come for us to bid farewell. And I shall looking forward to these luxuries in another 4 months time.

Thanks for reading. Go hug your dogs for me.
Mwah mwah
